UTHSC News: Making the Library Current

Students sometimes perceive the Library as having static offerings when in fact offerings are changing all the time. These reels series help to combat that and increase what librarians call "discoverability." Discoverability is what happens when you happen upon an information resource by chance and it looks interesting. That's super easy to do when you're looking at physical books but it's a little more difficult to encourage when all the resources are online.

At the UTHSC Library, each college has a liaison librarian who is an expert in resources for their fields. These videos also help many patrons put a face to the name, building trust with the organization.

Lastly, the videos provide more reach than a static post and take a comparable amount of time to a post that would show up in the traditional feed.
